Job summary

Northern Nevada Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant - Primary Care for a full-time day shift in Reno. The role involves supporting physicians in examinations and treatments, interviewing patients, taking vital signs, and performing venipuncture as directed.

Responsibilities include documenting in the EMR, preparing treatment rooms, and occasionally covering the front desk. A strong familiarity with medical terminology and a current BLS/CPR certification are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion and/or one year experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Familiarity with medical terminology required.
• Experience with patient check-in and check-out process (according to clinic protocol).
• General medical office procedures.
• Understand end of day cash balancing and charge reconciliation process (according to clinic protocol).

• Perform a wide variety of patient care duties under the physician's direction.
• Interview patients and measure vital signs (pulse, temperature, BP, weight, height).
• Perform venipuncture and related procedures as directed.
• Document in the Electronic Medical Record per IPM guidelines.

• Assist in covering the front desk as required.

Summary

This Medical Assistant opportunity is full-time, offers full benefits and a convenient day shift schedule. This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care duties which include assisting in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviewing patients measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), venipuncture and procedure as directed by the physician within the scope of practice in the State. Documentation is recorded in the Electronic Medical Record in accordance with IPM guideline. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Assists in covering the front desk as required.
