Job summary

Prime-Healthcare,-P Internal Medicine is seeking a friendly Medical Assistant for a full-time schedule. You will support clinicians by preparing patients, obtaining vitals, and keeping exam rooms ready.

You’ll work in a fast-paced clinic in Avon, CT, with a team that values collaboration and respect. Athenahealth experience is a plus, and certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Experience in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Primary Care preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records (Athenahealth experience is a plus).
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy clinical setting.
• A positive attitude and a team-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and room patients while creating a positive patient experience.
• Obtain vital signs and document medical histories.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers as needed.
• Perform point-of-care testing (per state regulations).
• Process prescription refill requests and prior authorizations.
• Maintain exam rooms, stock supplies, and ensure infection control standards are met.
• Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record.
