Job summary

Penn Medicine in Lancaster, PA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support office-based patient care and communications. You will work under the supervision of a provider or licensed nurse across pediatric to geriatric patients, performing rooming, injections, medications, and tests as part of the care team.

The role emphasizes patient experience, coordination of referrals, and adherence to privacy standards, with potential regional travel for regional positions.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support is required.
• Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant is required (or certification within 6 months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for visit using the appropriate rooming standards.
• Administers injections as prescribed and reports observations.
• Prepares and administers medications per provider orders and regulations.
• Assists providers with procedures and minor surgeries as designated.
• Performs Point of Care Testing (e.g., hearing, flu, urine, strep).
• Coordinates tests, tracking results and keeps exam rooms stocked and clean.
• Supports patients via phone/email with triage guidance and referrals as needed.
