Job Description

The Medical Assistant (MA) performs clinical duties and some administrative functions under the direction of medical group providers. Responsibilities include preparing patients for examinations, taking and recording vital signs, documenting patient histories, and assisting with various procedures. This role involves working with prescription refills and pre-authorizations.

Requirements

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills across different age groups.
• Sensitivity to patients, including effective telephone and verbal communication in emergencies.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to pass all competencies related to Medical Assistant duties.
• Current knowledge and skills in providing appropriate care for patients from neonate to geriatric.
• Excellent customer relations skills, avoiding conflicts and undue anxiety.
• Keyboard and computer proficiency.
• CPR certification within 90 days of employment.

Preferred but not required: Medical Assistant certification, LPN, Pharmacy Tech, Emergency Medical Technician certification, or current Certified Nursing Assistant.

Compensation

Pay ranges from $19.16 to $27.77 per hour, based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt and non-exempt positions may have additional pay considerations such as shift differentials or overtime.
