UPMC is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for the Primary Care - Brentwood team in Pittsburgh. The role supports a busy internal medicine practice with a focus on patient flow, vitals, basic labs, and direct patient care.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, EKGs, chart management, and assisting with exams under physician supervision. High school diploma required; EPIC/EHR experience a plus; competitive benefits and growth opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with medical terminology.
• Phlebotomy and EKGs experience is a plus.
• EPIC/EHR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check schedules and organize patient flow.
• Assist patients with walking, transfers, and dressing; assist during exams.
• Take patient information/history, vitals, and screenings per provider guidelines.
• Prepare and clean exam rooms, instruments, and equipment between visits.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKGs and basic labs as directed.
• Answer calls and provide patient education as directed.
• Schedule appointments and manage charts for filing and completeness.
• Under supervision, administer injectable medications and vaccines when appropriate.
