Job summary

Fairview Health Services in Bloomington, MN is seeking a Medical Assistant for its Primary Care team. This is a 0.9 FTE position (72 hours per two week pay period) with an eligible sign-on bonus up to $2,000 and benefits. The MA will support care team functions, gather patient information, and document care in the medical record.

The role emphasizes adherence to policies, teamwork, patient education, and continuous improvement of workflow to enhance the patient and family experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or
• Graduate of an LPN program
• A clinical externship is required for non-certified MA applicants with less than six (6) months of Medical Assistant experience
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc, Red Cross or MTN)

Responsibilities

• Delivers care as delegated by physician/RN to the assigned patient population
• Follows the patient’s plan of care
• Prioritizes work based on patient acuity and provider schedule
• Performs high and low risk procedures including medication administration and CPR assistance
• Documents care in the medical record
• Communicates effectively with the health care team and patients
