Job summary

Pacific Medical Centers is seeking a Medical Assistant II to support licensed practitioners in delivering patient care. The MA II will perform tasks from the MA I role, adhering to policies and procedures across the assigned clinic.

The position emphasizes clinical competency and adherence to safety standards in a patient-focused environment. Qualified candidates have MA training or apprenticeship, military medical training, and MA experience, with WA MA certification at hire and BLS within 30

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited program with hands-on MA clinical training.
  • Graduate of an MA apprenticeship program.
  • Completed two years of medical training in the US Armed Forces.
  • At least 6 months of MA work with vital signs, injections, and meds.
  • Washington Medical Assistant Certification required on hire.
  • Within 30 days: National Provider BLS (American Heart Association).
  • Minimum 6 months healthcare experience.
  • Minimum 6 months MA clinical experience.

Description

The MA II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for assigned clinic/location of work. An MA II is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Qualifications:


  • Coursework/Training Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants Or


  • Coursework/Training Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program Or


  • Coursework/Training Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces Or


  • Coursework/Training Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration Or


  • Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Certification


  • Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association


  • 6 months Healthcare experience


  • 6 months Medical Assistant experience



Preferred Qualifications:


  • Upon hire: National Medical Assistant Certification

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors.
