Job summary

OptumCare/AHN in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Medical Assistant in Family Medicine to support examinations, patient check-ins, vitals, and basic procedures. The role includes NextGen EMR use, front/back-office duties, and collaboration with physicians and nurse practitioners.

Eligible for sign-on bonus for external candidates. Local pay ranges reflect market conditions; comprehensive benefits and 401k are offered. Monday–Friday schedule with no evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

• EMR/EHR experience preferred.
• NextGen knowledge desirable.
• Front/back-office duties including vitals, phlebotomy, injections, referrals, prior authorizations, and insurance verifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare examination rooms and sterilize equipment.
• Room patients, obtain health history, check vital signs and perform EKGs.
• Administer injections and collect specimens.
• Document patient care using NextGen EMR software.
• Schedule appointments, complete prior authorizations, process medication refills, handle referrals, answer calls and complete paperwork.
• Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with minor in-office procedures.

This office is located on the border of Avon and Indianapolis, IN

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:40am-5pm / No evenings, weekends, or holidays!

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepare examination rooms and sterilizing equipment

Required Qualifications

• Medical Assistant Certification (CMA or RMA) or you must be willing to attain that certification within 9 Mos of the start date

Preferred Qualifications

• EMR/EHR experience
• Experience with NextGen medical records software
• Experience with medical front office and back-office duties including vitals, phlebotomy, injections, casting/splinting, administering medications, referrals, prior authorizations, and insurance verifications
  
  

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.15 to $28.80 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
