Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking Medical Assistants to support physicians with patient care across multiple roles. This posting covers per diem, part-time, and full-time opportunities within the Advanced Medical Group.

Responsibilities include vital signs, patient education, assisting with exams, preparing patients for procedures, phlebotomy, and ensuring safety and accuracy in documentation. AHA BLS certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with varying populations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of computerized processes and data entry procedures.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record vital signs.
• Record patient interview, history and chief complaint.
• Provide patient education on office policies, medications, home treatments and diets.
• Assist the physician with exams and minor office procedures.
• Prepare patients for examinations and routine screening tests.
• Change dressings, apply bandages, remove sutures and other first aid procedures.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, stocking and sterilization of instruments.
• Practice OSHA safety standards.
• Perform phlebotomy.
• Triage patient phone calls and review prescriptions as directed by physician.
