Job summary

US Fertility in Towson, Maryland is seeking a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our national fertility network. This full-time role involves phlebotomy, patient care, lab processing, and patient education, with a schedule Mon-Fri 6:30 AM–3:00 PM and every other weekend.

Compensation ranges from $20 to $23 per hour, commensurate with experience, with benefits including health insurance, 401(k) match, and tuition support.

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal MA program; preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail, demonstrated ability to follow-through, and high degree of comfort with computer applications, accuracy and speed with data entry is required
• Minimum of one year of prior experience in healthcare and familiarity with medical terminology

Responsibilities

• Perform high volume of phlebotomy
• Maintain supplies for the blood drawing stations
• Assist with the clinical care of fertility patients
• Ensure lab specimens are sent to proper labs
• Provide patient/couple counseling, procedure teaching, communicates physician orders and instructions
• Provide pre and post op education
• Perform semen washes and sets up for IUIs
• Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance
• Utilize the computer in entering labs and printing labels
• Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients and patients’ families
• Work independently to assure the program goals are achieved
• Support and promote excellence in customer service
