Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program at a Vocational School.
  • Eligible to be certified as a Medical Assistant by the AAMA within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Function as an enrollment coordinator for the STAC telehealth program.
  • Connect with patients prior to discharge to enroll in the program.
  • Teach the use of blood pressure monitoring equipment.

The medical assistant for this position functions as an enrollment coordinator for the Postpartum Staying Healthy After Childbirth (STAC) telehealth program. This role is a non-traditional medical assistant role in that the primary functions are to connect with patients prior to discharge to enroll in the program and teach use of blood pressure device equipment.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program (one year at a Vocational School)
  • Eligible to be certified as a Medical Assistant by the AAMA--American Association of Medical Assistants within 6 months of hire date
  • Possesses knowledge and skills required to effectively care for patients in one or more of the following age groups: Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric

Preferred:

  • One year of work in a medical setting
  • CPR training
  • Certified as a Medical Assistant by the AAMA-American Association of Medical Assistants
