Position Summary

The Medical Assistant will work collaboratively with healthcare teams to support patient care, including preparing patients for examinations, supporting pre-surgical screening, assisting with procedures, and maintaining a professional environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with patient intake, examinations, and data collection.
  • Support pre-surgical screening, including vital signs, lab specimens, and EKGs.
  • Prepare specimens for lab processing.
  • Assist physicians with treatments and procedures.
  • Perform cast removal, suture and staple removal, and apply off-the-shelf braces.
  • Maintain cultural sensitivity and teamwork.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. and Nationally Certified Medical Assistant
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, Nursing Technician, EMT, or Military Corpsman, with 1 year in orthopedic or surgical subspecialty in an ambulatory setting
  • BLS Certification
  • Certifications: NHA, RMA, AMT preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in ambulatory clinics, physician’s offices, or hospitals
  • Proficiency in vital signs, venipuncture, cast removal, and EMR systems like EPIC
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
