Job Overview

The Medical Assistant supports healthcare delivery by providing direct patient care and clinical/non-clinical services within the scope of practice at El Rio Health. Responsibilities include completing patient intake, assisting with procedures, documenting in EHR, and maintaining a safe environment.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform clinical and non-clinical duties efficiently, ensuring high standards and minimal errors.
• Complete patient intake procedures, including documentation and data entry into EHR.
• Assist with procedures, coordinate outside medical records, labs, and radiology results.
• Ensure patient understanding of provider instructions and document all interactions.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and compliance with policies, including HIPAA and safety regulations.
• Demonstrate professionalism, problem-solving, and effective communication skills.
• Manage medication and supply inventories according to policies.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution.
• Current BLS certification.
• Level I fingerprint clearance card or application in process.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of experience as a medical assistant in ambulatory care.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
