Medical Assistant - Pediatrics


Location: Laurel, MD


Pay From: $20 per hour


Must:

  • The Medical Assistant - Pediatrics will have a strong clinical background.
  • Medical Assistant Diploma - must have attended MA school.
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant required.
  • EMR experience.
  • Family Practice experience.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience with multi-phone line systems.
Duties:

  • Triaging patients.
  • Phlebotomy.
  • Administering immunizations.
  • Answering a high volume of phone calls.
  • Preparing medical records.
  • Providing clinical help.
  • Welcoming patients and visitors, greeting in person or on the telephone, and referring inquiries.
  • Optimizing patient satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments.
  • Keeping patient appointments on schedule and notifying providers of arrivals or delays.
  • Comforting patients and maintaining the reception area.
  • Ensuring availability of treatment information by managing patient records.
  • Maintaining patient accounts with updated personal and financial information.
  • Managing office inventory and equipment, including stock checks, supply orders, and equipment maintenance.
  • Protecting patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality.
  • Following policies and procedures, and reporting needed changes.
  • Contributing to team efforts as needed.
