Job description

Virginia Mason Medical Center, recognized among the Best Hospitals in Washington state by U.S. News & World Report, is seeking a certified Medical Assistant. You will assist providers and other members of the healthcare team in the clinic by performing various back-office and patient-related tasks to ensure smooth workflow within the department. You will also perform a variety of patient care procedures within the Medical Assistant (MA) scope of practice.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: injections, EKGs, ear lavage, blood draws, measuring vital signs (weight, height, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature), managing rooming and patient flow including pre-visit preparation, assisting during patient visits, post-visit duties, informing providers of schedule changes, assisting with front office activities, and reporting test results as directed by the provider. As a Medical Assistant at Virginia Mason, you will contribute to our Team Medicine approach, benefiting from our Virginia Mason Production System that transforms healthcare by improving access, reducing errors, and enhancing patient safety and quality.

Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited medical assisting program, with Washington State Department of Health Medical Assistant - Certified (CM) license.
  • Knowledge of third-party payer requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills; proficiency in using a PC.
  • One year of Medical Assistant – Certified experience preferred.
