Position Overview:

The Medical Assistant for Pediatrics provides care to patients and their families through direct and telephone contact, adhering to established standards. The role involves coordinating with the care team to ensure seamless service, assisting physicians with clinical procedures, and encouraging active patient participation.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 10 am - 7 pm, with occasional Saturday half-day shifts.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Demonstrate clinical competence in patient care and assist physicians during procedures.
  2. Perform clinical duties within scope, complying with standards, policies, and protocols.
  3. Proactively address patient and family needs, communicating effectively.
  4. Escort patients to exam rooms promptly.
  5. Assist during exams and diagnostic procedures, demonstrating clinical skills.
  6. Perform authorized procedures such as vital signs, vision screening, and lab tests.
  7. Seek guidance from physicians or nurses when necessary.
  8. Prepare e-prescriptions as instructed.
  9. Maintain cleanliness and proper processing of instruments and specimens.
Qualifications:
  • Current Nationally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification (from NAHP, NCCT, AAMA, AMT, NHA) or ability to obtain within 1 year.
  • At least 1 year of clinical experience in a medical setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with recent experience.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
Compensation and Benefits:

The hourly rate ranges from $16.00 to $24.42, depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits include comprehensive packages, incentive programs, stock purchase options, and 401k contributions, subject to eligibility.
