Position Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) is an integral part of the Physician/Advanced Practice Provider (APP) office team working under the direction and supervision of a licensed healthcare practitioner. Work situations require performance of safe clinical skills within the scope of practice of the MA-C. The MA-C has continuous contact with physicians, APPs, nurses, front office staff, patients, and their families/caregivers.

Responsibilities
  • Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include:
    • Organizing patient flow in collaboration with the front office staff
    • Interviewing patients
    • Obtaining vital signs
    • Assisting patients in preparing for exams or treatments
    • Performing specimen collection, including venipuncture
    • Administration of medications in compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competency
    • Relaying instructions/information to patients and their families/caregivers
  • Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned which may include:
    • Sending and receiving of patient medical records
    • Facilitating patient referrals
    • Preparing forms for patients
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited program for Medical Assistants
  • Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental, and retirement benefits, and paid time off. The pay scale is $24.58 - $35.36 USD. Pay is influenced by factors such as skill set, experience, certifications, and education. If this position is unionized, pay will reflect appropriate steps based on experience.
