Job summary

Endeavor Health in Evanston, IL is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant for Outpatient Services. The role covers front desk duties, scheduling, patient registration, and basic clinical tasks in a busy physician practice.

Responsibilities include checking in/out patients, collecting co-pays, verifying insurances, and providing vitals and basic injections as needed. Travel to other sites may be required based on department needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited medical assisting program preferred but not required.
• CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; MA certification (AMT or AAMA) preferred but not required.
• One year of work experience in a medical office or related field preferred; on-the-job training provided for those without prior MA training.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and schedule appointments.
• Collect co-payments and complete patient registration.
• Provide front office support and verify insurances.
• Greet patients and escort to exam room; document vitals, allergies, meds, and visit reason.
• Support physician practice with administrative tasks; check in/out patients.

Hourly Pay Range:

$19.89 - $28.84 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant- Outpatient Services

Position Highlights:

• Position: Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant
• Location: Evanston, IL
• Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
• Hours: Rotating hours between 8:30am - 5pm

• Required Travel: Travel to other sites based upon department need

What you will do:

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patient
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required

What you will need:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required.
• Certification: CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required.
• Experience: One year of work experience required, previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred. On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience.
