Job summary

Summit Health in Connecticut is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, PAs or NPs with clerical duties, patient flow and care. You will prepare exam rooms, manage patient visits, document vital signs in the EHR, and assist with referrals and scheduling within the PMS.

The role emphasizes accurate charting, clear communication with diverse patients, and adherence to safety protocols. Must have MA training and strong English communication; BLS preferred; ability to work at satellite

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, required.
• Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner, required.
• Basic proficiency in computer use, required.
• Ability to commute to satellite offices as needed, required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the examination room and escorts patient into the room.
• Maintains efficient patient flow.
• Assists with patient visits and documentation in EHR.
• Schedules appointments per guidelines.
• Communicates patient care needs to the team.
• Obtains vital signs and records in EHR.
• Provides referrals and/or consult orders as needed.
• All other duties as assigned.
