Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, PAs or NPs with patient flow, room preparation and routine procedures in a fast-paced clinic environment.

You will maintain exam rooms, document vital signs and allergies in the EHR, assist with orders, referrals and transitions of care, and ensure compassionate, patient-centered care across diverse populations. This is a full-time, on-site role with potential travel to satellite offices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program.
• 0-1 year related work experience required; 2-4 years preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to communicate in English, both oral and in writing.
• Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner.
• Basic proficiency in computer use.
• Travel ability to commute to satellite offices as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the examination room and escorts patient into the room.
• Maintains efficient patient flow and adheres to scheduling guidelines.
• Reviews and updates patient information and vital signs in EHR.
• Documents allergies and medication lists in the EHR.
• Assists with orders, referrals and transitions of care.
• Maintains cleanliness and restocks supplies in exam rooms.
• Assists with scribing and other duties as assigned.
