Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, PAs and NPs with clinical and clerical tasks. You will prepare exam rooms, assist with patient flow, collect vitals, update medication lists, and document visits in the EHR.

Travel to satellite offices may be required, and you will be part of a patient-centric team delivering high-quality care. This role emphasizes attention to detail, teamwork and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program.
• 0-1 year related work experience required; 2-4 years preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to communicate in English, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the examination room; escorts the patient and cleans the room after the exam.
• Maintains efficient patient flow and accurate appointment scheduling.
• Prepares information needed for patient visits; supports care within scope of practice.
• Documents vitals (BP, temp, pulse, height, weight) in the EHR.
• Reviews/updates medication lists and allergies in the EHR; processes refill requests.
• Performs order entry and scheduling in PMS and EHR; assists with referrals.
• Quality safety practices; assists in transitions of care to UCC/Hospital.
