Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Medical Assistant in California to join our Pacific West team. You will provide high-quality patient care in a clinical setting, collect vital signs, assist with injections, EKGs and phlebotomy, and document care in EMR systems while upholding infection control protocols.

Required: completion of a Medical Assistant program, BLS certification by hire date, and 1+ year of MA experience. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• BLS certification from AHA or willing to obtain by date of hire.
• 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers high-quality patient care in clinical setting for examinations, treatment, monitoring, and prep for diagnostics.
• Collects and documents patient information including vital signs, chief complaints, medications, allergies, health risk screen info, and extended care benefits status.
• Assists physicians and nursing staff with injections, EKGs, phlebotomy, and other patient care procedures.
• Coordinates patient care as directed by physicians, standards, and policies.
• Assists with tasks, phone calls, and messages; documents all actions.
• Maintains proper EMR and paper documentation for assessments and procedures.
• Prepares and cleans patient rooms and sets up instruments per protocol with infection control.
