Howard Brown Health in Chicago is seeking Medical Assistants to support patient care across clinical workflows. The role includes rooming patients, taking vitals, assisting providers during visits, performing EKGs and vaccines, and maintaining EMR data with strong HIPAA compliance.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required; 0–2 years in medical services preferred.
• Certification: BLS/CPR through AHA or ARC required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program required.
• CNA with phlebotomy experience acceptable; MA II/III certifications as per role.
• Certification maintained with ongoing trainings including EMR superuser and leadership cohort.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a HIPAA-regulated environment.

Responsabilidades

• Perform routine clinical functions: measure vitals, weight, height, SPO2, and use/maintain medical equipment.
• Assist licensed providers with patient histories and during in-person/virtual visits.
• Conduct EKG, spirometry, hearing and vision tests as ordered.
• Support laboratory operations: specimen collection and processing per third‑party requirements.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and infection control practices across the clinic.
• Prepare and administer vaccines according to standing orders.
• Record patient data in the EMR and manage patient messages and refill requests.
• Maintain clean, organized examination rooms and stock essential supplies.
• Participate in huddles, trainings, and precept externs; may work at other HBH centers.
