Job summary

Holy Cross Medical Group in Utah is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the healthcare team and patients by performing clinical tasks, maintaining accurate chart documentation, and contributing to a high-quality patient experience.

You will promote relationship-based care and participate in professional development via our MA Clinical Ladder, with pay based on certification. A 1-year MA/EMT background and completion of an MA program are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
• BLS through American Heart Association required.
• Preferred: Certified or Registered Medical Assistant from a recognized program.
• One year experience as Medical Assistant or EMT preferred.
• Completion of Medical Assisting Program/Trade/Technical School.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient's physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data, and report to the provider for optimal outcomes.
• Demonstrate competency in vital signs, procedures, prevention services, previsit planning and postvisit follow up, and medication refills per protocol while maintaining efficient patient flow.
• Contribute to development of a patient plan of care with the interdisciplinary team and identify barriers to participation in the plan.
• Complete Medical Assistant Core Skills and any specialty competencies defined by scope of practice.
• Maintain patient charts and records confidentially, including importing and communicating scanned documents.
• Document ongoing status, interventions, patient response and outcomes accurately and timely.
