Job summary

St. Luke’s University Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the Practice Operations team. Responsibilities include reviewing patient records, preparing patients for exams, updating histories and med lists, and assisting with vaccines and injections.

The role requires attention to detail, strong patient communication, and the ability to work with care teams to coordinate tests, discharge planning and follow-up care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; MA program preferred.
• Two years of similar healthcare experience preferred.
• BLS/CPR certification current or within 60 days.
• Excellent communication and patient-care skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and update patient records prior to appointments.
• Complete pre-charting for value-based care five days before visits.
• Prepare patients for exams, record vitals, update med and allergy history.
• Assist with injections/immunizations per state guidelines.
• Coordinate with care team on discharge, labs and appointments.
• Participate in department meetings and quality initiatives.
• Dispose of bio-hazardous waste per protocol.
• Maintain vaccine logs and inventory of supplies.
• Perform administrative tasks at front desk as needed.
• Suggest improvements to Practice Managers and Providers.
• Support ongoing quality improvement and other duties.
