Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical operations in a fast-paced setting. You will room patients, collect assessment data, assist with examinations, labs, and screenings, and coordinate referrals and scheduling.

Responsibly manage patient flow and chart accuracy while maintaining courteous interactions with patients and staff. Qualified graduates from ABHES/CAAHEP-accredited programs (or equivalent) with CPR/BLS certification within 90 days are preferred; medication

Qualifications

• Graduate of a medical assistant program accredited by ABHES or CAAHEP or equivalent accreditation.
• Clinical rotation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients and prepares them for examination or procedure.
• Assists in examination, treatment and clinic procedures.
• Assists with laboratory procedures and screening tests.
• Answers calls, triages or directs inquiries to appropriate personnel.
• Schedules appointments and enters dates/times into the scheduler.
• Performs reminder calls and greets patients and visitors.
• Verifies and updates patient records in the computer system.
• Coordinates referrals with insurance and other physician offices.
• Handles patient payments and receipts where applicable.
• Maintains patient charts and orders supplies.

Education

ABHES/CAAHEP accredited Medical Assistant program OR equivalent accreditation
