Job summary

Singing River Regional Digestive Specialists seeks a Medical Assistant to perform a mix of clinical and administrative duties under the supervision of the Physician and onsite supervision team. The role supports front office staff and patient care management within the Digestive Specialists clinics in Pascagoula and Ocean Springs.

Requirements include a high school diploma, completion of an ABHES/CAAHEP-accredited MA program (preferred), CMA or RMA certification options, and BCLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Graduate from a Medical Assistant program accredited by ABHES or CAAHEP preferred.
• Certifications: CMA or RMA as applicable; must maintain certification.
• Must complete and maintain BCLS certification upon hire/transfer; de-escalation training by orientation end (90 days).
• Experience: at least 1 year of customer service involving registration, scheduling, and insurance verification; CMA preferred.

Responsibilities

• In a caring and professional manner, perform clinical and administrative tasks delegated by the Physician or intermediary personnel responsible for patient care management.
• Assist front office personnel as directed by the Practice/Office Manager.
• Provide registration, scheduling, and insurance verification support as part of daily duties.
• Maintain appropriate clinical judgment and professional skills for patient populations of all ages.
