Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to keep the day running smoothly for patients and the clinical team. You will lead in preparing patient charts and ensuring information is up-to-date for those seen in our facility.

You will perform basic lab and phlebotomy, draw blood, perform EKGs, administer medications under supervision, and document visits in the EMR. This role requires accuracy and empathy in patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate/ GED with completion of MA cert program or equivalent military training.
• WA Medical Assistant Certification required upon hire.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Greets and prepares patients, records vitals and basic information for the visit.
• Performs basic lab and phlebotomy, draws blood, and performs EKGs.
• Administers medications by approved routes under Provider supervision.
• Pend orders for lab tests and radiology studies for provider sign-off.
• Documents visits and procedures in the EMR per established procedures.
• Enters medical history, diagnoses, prescriptions and follow-up instructions into the chart.
• Reviews documentation to identify inconsistencies and improve record accuracy.
