Job summary

Hometown Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in a fast-paced healthcare setting. In this role, you will take patient histories, record vital signs, and assist with examinations and procedures to ensure efficient patient flow.

You will perform basic screenings, phlebotomy, injections, and point-of-care testing, while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality and accurate documentation in the EMR system. A team-oriented attitude and CPR certification are required.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years experience in a physician practice or clinic setting preferred.
• Basic computer skills and EMR proficiency required.
• CPR certification required; ability to work independently with sound clinical judgment.

Responsibilities

• Take patient history and record vital signs.
• Assist clinicians with exams and procedures.
• Perform basic testing and screenings as listed (vision, hearing, EKGs, etc.).
• Handle phlebotomy and specimen collection as directed.
• Prepare and document lab orders and testing results.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection control practices.
• Schedule records and referrals, and assist with patient education.
