Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience and 1.5 years working as a certified Medical Assistant.
• Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program with at least 120 hours of clinical experience.
• Copy of diploma and transcripts from program OR letter from school attesting to successful completion of KPCO Medical Assistant Apprenticeship program.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and facilitate provider schedule; maintain rapport with members/patients.
• Assist with routine clinical tasks within scope of practice (e.g., vision screening, ear irrigation, hematocrit, EKG, specimen collection).
• Support physicians and clinicians during examinations and procedures with supplies and instruments.
• Perform basic clerical and reception duties: check-in/out, scheduling, patient records, and phone handling.
• Prepare examination/treatment rooms and maintain sterile technique where required.
• Communicate appointment status and delays to patients and team members.
