Job summary

Singing River Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform a broad range of clinical and administrative tasks under the supervision of the Physician or intermediary staff at Singing River Gulfport Hospital.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, CMA or RMA certification preferred, and at least 1 year of customer service experience in registration, scheduling, and insurance verification. De-escalation training is required within 90 days of orientation.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required; CMA or RMA preferred.
• Graduate from ABHES or CAAHEP Medical Assistant program preferred.
• 1 year customer service experience in registration, scheduling, and insurance verification required.
• Must maintain certification(s) and complete de-escalation training by orientation end (90 days).

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative tasks under the direct/supervised physician or intermediary staff.
• Assist front office personnel as directed by Practice/Office Manager.
• Maintain professional demeanor and patient-focused care in a busy clinic environment.
