Optum in California is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide high-quality patient care in a clinical setting. You will work alongside physicians and staff, taking part in examinations, injections, EKGs, phlebotomy, and documentation, while maintaining infection control and patient flow.

You will interact with patients and families, document vital signs and notes, and support a coordinated care process in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program
• BLS certification from AHA or willing to obtain by date of hire
• Medical Assistant experience

Responsabilidades

• Delivers high-quality patient care through face-to-face, telephone, and electronic contact for examination, treatment, monitoring, and preparation for diagnostic tests or procedures
• Collects and documents patient information, including vital signs, chief complaints, reviews of medications, allergies, health risk screening information, the status of extended care benefits, and other services
• Assists physicians and nursing personnel with injections, EKGs, phlebotomy, and other patient care procedures as directed
• Coordinates patient care as directed by physicians, company standards, and policies
• Assists with tasks, phone calls, and messages; document all actions taken
• Proper, concise, and complete EMR documentation and paper-based documentation for all assessments and procedures
• Prepares and cleans patient rooms and sets up instruments and equipment according to protocol while maintaining infection control

Conocimientos

Bilingual English and Spanish

Medical Assistant experience

BLS certification or willing to obtain
