Job summary

Pueblo Community Health Center, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the nursing team in Pueblo, CO. You will support routine patient care, document care in electronic health records, and assist providers with procedures and emergencies as needed.

The role requires completion of a Medical Assistant program, CPR certification, and preferred credentialing from NHA/AMT/AAMA; Spanish language skills are a plus and local travel to satellite clinics may be required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program required.
• Current CPR certification for Healthcare Providers required.
• Certification through NHA/AMT/AAMA or other credentialing organization preferred.
• One year medical assisting experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Follow clinical workflows and documentation for MAs and providers within electronic patient charts.
• Assist a Medical Provider in providing direct patient care as needed, including treatments and emergencies.
• Maintain vaccine storage, handling and administration policy and procedures.
• Maintain stock and supplies in exam rooms per policy and procedure.
• Follow Nursing policies and procedures and ensure patient confidentiality.
• May perform phlebotomy at satellite clinics.
