Job summary

Bristol Health seeks a Medical Assistant to provide clerical and clinical support in a fast-paced medical office. You will manage patient reception, charting, basic examinations, e.g., vital signs, and assist with lab tasks under the direction of Medical Providers.

The role requires a High School Diploma or completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program, CPR/BLS certification, and ability to handle lab specimens and front-desk tasks with compassion and accuracy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program or 1 year direct patient care experience preferred.
• Current CPR certification required.
• BLS certification required as part of Bristol Health mandates.

Responsibilities

• Provides clerical and clinical support to MedWorks Occupational Health, including patient reception, flow, and care.
• Maintains patient electronic records, ensures adequate office and medical supplies, explains policies and procedures, routes patient information, answers phone calls, and provides clinical support as directed by Medical Providers.
• Assists with patient care including suturing, wound care, and debridement.
• Delivers on-site patient care under Medical Provider direction and performs routine clinical tasks such as collecting vitals, EKGs, and basic tests.
• Performs routine lab testing and collects urine and blood samples per established protocols, ensuring proper chain of custody when required.
