Job summary

United Digestive in Lithonia, GA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in a gastroenterology practice. The successful candidate will help manage patient flow, triage, and prepare charts in the EMR while ensuring accurate communication of test results and prescriptions.

Responsibilities include assisting with in-office procedures, maintaining exam rooms, and handling scheduling and patient inquiries with a focus on HIPAA compliance and patient service.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant.
• CPR certification preferred.
• 2-3 years of gastroenterology clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors patient flow and assists physicians during visits and procedures.
• Prepares charts in the EMR and manages test results and prescriptions.
• Triage patients, collect history, and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Answer emails/voicemails and coordinate with other UD staff.
• Maintain exam rooms, sterilization, supplies, and equipment.
• Assist with in-office ancillary services and scheduling.
