Job summary

United Digestive in Atlanta, GA is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to support physicians and front office operations. You will manage patient charts, triage, prepare exam rooms, and assist with in-office procedures.

Candidates must be a certified medical assistant with 2–3 years gastroenterology experience, strong computer skills, and the ability to communicate clearly with patients and staff. HIPAA compliance and EMR proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Current Certified or Registered Medical Assistant or equivalent experience required.
• CPR certification preferred.
• 2–3 years of specialty clinical experience; gastroenterology experience preferred.
• Medical Assistant must be computer literate and able to operate various healthcare systems and multiple Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Monitors schedule and organizes patient flow for physician office visits or in-office procedures.
• Accompanies patients to exam rooms, triages, collects patient history, and provides physical assessments as delegated by the physicians.
• Schedules and obtains results for testing, procedures, and other services; communicates results to physicians and patients.
• Performs or assists with in-office ancillary services and procedures.
• Manages patient charts and ensures clinical information is complete; scans forms into the EMR promptly.
• Prepares charts in the EMR prior to physician visits; ensures samples are up to date.
• Interacts with patients to provide information regarding medical treatment or procedures; handles emails/voicemails promptly.
