Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program per CA standards; diploma within 90 days.
• OR completion of Sutter Health MA training equivalent to one year.
• BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and clerical support to providers and patient care teams.
• Perform back-office and patient-related tasks supporting high-quality patient care.
• Help ensure smooth patient workflow within the department.
• Assist the patient care team in implementing the medical plan of care.
• Educate and interact with patients, families, support groups, and healthcare providers.
• Complete required new-hire training during the first two weeks, up to 40 hours.
• Work varied shifts and an 8-hour schedule; weekend coverage once a month.
