This is a benefited, part-time position (40 hours every 2 weeks) generally working 6- or 8-hour day shifts. Hours will vary as needed. No weekends, holidays, or nights. There is potential to pick up additional shifts. The position is located at Scripps Clinic in Torrey Pines (La Jolla), with required floating to other sites as needed.

What you'll do:
- Assist in Orthopedic Surgery & Pain Management departments.
- Scribing/Starting notes for providers.
- Ordering and documentation of patient encounters.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, spine preferred.
- Rooming patients and checking vitals.
- Clinic preparation assisting with provider-specific protocols.
- Assisting in procedures.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment.
- Organizing and performing patient care services.
- Relaying instructions from physicians to patients or authorized persons.
- Collecting patient data in person and by phone.
- Documenting patient concerns, messages, and care in the electronic medical record.
- Completing and accurately taking messages.
- Routing messages appropriately.
- Basic registration and updating demographics.
