Job summary

First Choice Health Centers is seeking a Part-Time Medical Assistant to join our Clinical and Operations team in East Hartford, Manchester, and Vernon. The role involves direct patient care in an outpatient setting, with duties as a floating MA and a 20–24 hour workweek.

Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant Program is required; CMA is a plus. BLS, EHR familiarity, and 5+ years MA/CNA experience ideal. We offer flexible shifts and opportunities for growth.

• BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Act as a member of the care team, including preparing patients to be seen by collecting and recording clinical information as per process.
• Respond to patient phone calls and document patient interactions.
• Document all patient interactions and other clinical activities accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
• Schedule tests, treatments and follow up visits on behalf of patients, assist patients with identifying suitable outside resources and other services where appropriate.
• Monitor task list (telephone encounters) and respond in a timely manner, follow up on overdue orders and monitor referrals.
• Adhere to all patient safety standards and infection control guidelines.
• Assist care team to assure smooth office operation and delivery of excellent service through teamwork.

Job description

First Choice Health Centers is looking for a Part-Time Medical Assistant to work alongside our Clinical and Operations team with providing direct care services including patient engagement and care coordination within the communities of East Hartford, Manchester, and Vernon. This position is accountable for independently performing a full range of tasks in delivery of patient care in an outpatient setting. In this position the Part-Time Medical Assistant acts as a float; work location is subject to change frequently based on staffing needs. Part-Time hours: 20-24 hours per week
