Harris Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our pain management practice in Sylva, NC. This full-time role supports providers with patient care, assists with procedures, and helps maintain efficient daily operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, required.
• Certification: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire.
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient assessments and treatments under provider supervision.
• Perform basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection; monitor patient condition.
• Document patient care provided and maintain examination areas.
• Maintain equipment and medical supplies, stock, clean, and troubleshoot.
• Perform administrative duties: filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, patient registration.
• Complete other tasks as delegated by leads or managers.
