Job summary

Adventist Health Simi Valley is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide non-invasive, routine technical support under licensed supervision in a fast-paced primary care setting.

Responsibilities include room setup, patient recall, vital signs, venipuncture, audiometry and vision testing, plus other duties as assigned. A High School diploma is required; CMA/RMA and BLS are preferred/required as noted.

Qualifications

• High School Education/GED or equivalent required.
• CMA or RMA certification preferred; BLS certification required.
• BLS Health Care Provider certification required.
• CHDP audiometry/vision training or certificate within six months of hire preferred.
• Phlebotomy certificate preferred.

• Sets up exam rooms and checks in patients.
• Maintains a patient recall system and continuity of care log for lab tests, referrals and transfers.
• Obtains vital signs and reports findings to the clinic physician.
• Performs venipunctures as ordered.
• Performs audiometry and vision testing.
• Performs other assigned duties.

Job Summary

Performs non-invasive, routine, technical support services under the specific authorization and supervision of a licensed physician, podiatrist, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or nurse midwife.

Job Requirements

Education and Work Experience:

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required

Licenses/Certifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or equivalent combination of licensure and experience: Preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• Successful completion of audiometry and vision training or have a certificate from CHDP within six months of hire.: Preferred
• Phlebotomy certificate: Preferred

Facility Specific License/Certifications

• AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS: Required

Essential Functions
