Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for Murray WorkMed to provide patient care in a busy ambulatory clinic. You will support clinicians, gather visit information, and communicate with patients via phone and in person.

Role requires teamwork, a positive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. On-site 40 hours/week with a weekday off; education assistance opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program OR at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience OR current active and in good standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state of Utah.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. Must be obtained prior to start date
• Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and PHI of patients, members, and caregivers
• Utah Only: If certified with less than one year of MA experience, caregivers may attend a yearlong MA residency program

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direction of the Clinician, gathering information relevant to the visit.
• Communicate clearly with patients seeking care through telephone and in-person interactions.
