Job summary

Stamford Health is seeking a passionate Medical Assistant for our New Canaan Primary Care practice. Certification or Diploma from an accredited MA program is required, along with BLS/Heart Saver and English proficiency. Schedule includes a Monday–Friday day shift with no nights.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, preparing exam rooms, taking vitals, assisting with exams, and managing records and referrals to ensure a smooth patient experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification or Diploma from accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• National Certification preferred.
• BLS/Heart Saver Certification required.
• Two years of experience preferred.
• Demonstrate basic computer skills (MS Office).
• Excellent verbal and written English communication.
• Teamwork and flexibility in a fast-paced office.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in outpatient practice under physician supervision.
• Assist with clinical and clerical duties to optimize patient experience.
• Greet patients and manage inquiries by phone or in person.
• Prepare patients for visits, including room setup and gowns.
• Take vital signs and document medical history and visit purpose.
• Assist with exams, draw blood, prepare specimens, and basic lab tests.
• Schedule procedures and obtain test results; handle referrals.
