Job summary

Providence Medical Institute is seeking a Medical Assistant II to support patient care under a licensed practitioner’s supervision. This role builds on the MA I duties and requires competence across clinical tasks within our clinic.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year MA experience, completed MA training or apprenticeship, and current BLS/AHA within 30 days of hire. This on-site position offers comprehensive benefits and a values-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program with hands-on clinical training.
• Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program or military medical training equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of work experience as a medical assistant including vitals, injections, and medication administration.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum 6 months of healthcare experience.
• Minimum 6 months of medical assistant experience.

Job description

The Medical Assistant (MA) II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for assigned clinic/location of work. An MA II is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants or
• Coursework/Training: Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program or
• Coursework/Training: Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces or
• Coursework/Training: Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
• 6 months of Healthcare experience
• 6 months of Medical Assistant experience

Preferred qualifications:

• National Medical Assistant Certification upon hire
