Job summary

The Medical Assistant II at Providence Saint John's Medical Foundation supports licensed practitioners by performing duties to assist in patient care. This role advances MA I responsibilities and requires adherence to policies and regulations while delivering compassionate service in assigned clinics.

We welcome dedicated MAs with one year of clinical experience, BLS certification within 30 days, and training from an accredited program or military medical training.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school with hands-on MA clinical training.
• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant apprenticeship program.
• Has completed two years of medical training in the US Armed Forces.
• Minimum one year of MA experience including vitals, injections and meds.
• Within 30 days of hire: BLS from American Heart Association.

Job description

The Medical Assistant (MA) II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for assigned clinic/location of work. An MA II is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Qualifications

• Coursework/Training Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants Or
• Coursework/Training Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program Or
• Coursework/Training Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces Or
• Coursework/Training Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration Or
• Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

• Upon hire: National Medical Assistant Certification
