FTE: 1.0, Shift: Day, Schedule: Monday - Friday, core business hours

Position Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) is an integral part of the Physician/Advanced Practice Provider (APP) office team, working under the direction and supervision of a licensed healthcare practitioner. The role requires performing safe clinical skills within the scope of practice of the MA-C. The MA-C has continuous contact with physicians, APPs, nurses, front office staff, patients, and their families/caregivers.

Responsibilities:

  1. Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned, which may include:
  • Organizing patient flow in collaboration with front office staff
  • Interviewing patients
  • Obtaining vital signs
  • Assisting patients in preparing for exams or treatments
  • Performing specimen collection, including venipuncture
  • Administering medications in compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competency
  • Relaying instructions/information to patients and their families/caregivers
  • Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned, which may include:
    • Sending and receiving patient medical records
    • Facilitating patient referrals
    • Preparing forms for patients

    Requirements:

    • Completion of an accredited program for Medical Assistants
    • Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)
    • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred
