Job description

BayCare is currently in search of our newest Medical Assistant or LPN who is passionate about providing outstanding customer service to our community. Position Details:
  1. Location: Winter Haven, FL
  2. Status: Full Time (non-exempt)
  3. Shift: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday

Responsibilities of the Medical Assistant / LPN include:
  1. Patient histories, routine lab procedures, and specimen preparation for transport to the lab
  2. Follow-up on test orders and report results to provider and patient, provide and maintain patient education materials, maintain medical equipment, and order clinical supplies
  3. Create and maintain patient electronic medical records (EMR)
  4. Comply with all applicable regulatory agency regulations
  5. Perform other duties as assigned
Required Certification and Licensure:
  1. BLS (Basic Life Support) within 30 days of hire
  2. Approved Medical Assistant Certification within 6 months of hire or proof of active license/certification
  3. Or one of the following:
  • EMT (Emergency Medical Technician)
  • NREMT (Nationally Recognized Emergency Medical Technician)
  • Paramedic
  • LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse)
  • If not certified or licensed, the hired candidate must obtain Medical Assistant Certification within 90 days and pass within 6 months, or employment may be terminated.
  • Education:
    1. Required: High School or Equivalent
    2. Preferred: Technical Medical Assistant
    Experience:
    1. Preferred 2 years Medical Assistant experience
