Job summary

BayCare in Tampa, FL is hiring a Medical Assistant or LPN to join our patient-focused medical group. This full-time, in-person role supports providers with patient exams, labs, and documentation, Monday through Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Responsibilities include exam assistance, EMR entry, patient education, and adherence to OSHA/CLIA regulations. Required certification within 6 months; EMT/NREMT/Paramedic or LPN paths considered. Excellent benefits await.

Qualifications

• Approved Medical Assistant Certification required within 6 months of hire date or proof of active license/certification.
• EMT, NREMT, Paramedic, or LPN licensure considered.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred 2 years Medical Assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists providers with patient examination, procedures and treatment.
• Responsible for patient histories, routine lab procedures and specimen preparation.
• Follows up on test orders and reports results to provider and patient; maintains patient education materials.
• Creates and maintains patient EMR; maintains equipment and orders supplies.
• Complies with OSHA and CLIA regulations; performs other duties as assigned.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Approved Medical Assistant Certification required within 6 months of hire date or proof of active license/certification.
• Or EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) or NREMT (Nationally Recognized Emergency Medical Technician)
• Or Paramedic
• Or LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse)
• Required High School or Equivalent
• Preferred 2 years Medical Assistant
