Qualifications

  • Required Medical Assistant Certification or active license within 6 months of hire.
  • Preferred 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Assist providers with patient examinations and procedures.
  • Maintain patient electronic medical records and comply with regulations.
  • Prepare specimens for lab transport and follow up on test orders.

Status: Fulltime

Shift Hours: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM (May Vary)

Shift Days: Monday thru Friday

Location: Valrico, FL

Weekend Work: None

On Call: No

Responsibilities:

  1. Assists providers with patient examination, procedures, and treatment.
  2. Responsible for patient histories, routine lab procedures, and preparation of specimens for transport to the lab.
  3. Follows up on test orders and reports results to provider and patient, provides and maintains patient education materials, maintains medical equipment, and orders clinical supplies.
  4. Creates and maintains patient electronic medical record (EMR).
  5. Complies with all OSHA and CLIA regulations.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. Approved Medical Assistant Certification required within 6 months of hire date or proof of active license/certification.
  2. Or EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) or NREMT (Nationally Recognized Emergency Medical Technician)
  3. Or Paramedic
  4. Or LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse)
  5. Required High School or Equivalent
  6. Preferred 2 years Medical Assistant
