Qualifications

• Certification: Current AAMA/NHA/AMT/NCCT; BLS within 30 days; NH Med Tech or NH EMT licenses for NH locations.
• Experience: Six months MA or one year as MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and administrative support in a team-based office setting.
• Assist physicians and APPs in clinical duties under supervision.
• Maintain efficient patient flow and accurate documentation.

Summary

The Medical Assistant II role functions under the license of the physician/advanced practice practitioner when performing clinical and other patient care responsibilities.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)

• Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).
• License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification required. (Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement). Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.
• Experience: Six months of experience as a Medical Assistant or one year as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant.

The pay range for this position is $21.09to $27.12 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
